Kareena Kapoor channels Mughal-era royalty in a stunning red suit, but Saif Ali Khan’s all-black look steals attention too

Styled by Lakshmi Lehr, Kareena wore a creation by designer Arpita Mehta. The rich red shade was striking on its own, but it was the detailing that made the outfit stand out.

Her long kurta featured traditional Bandhani patterns, with mirror work and Gota Patti embroidery along the sleeves, hem and bodice. It had a scoop neckline and full-length sleeves, keeping the overall look rooted in classic Indian wear.

But the real highlight was the Farshi salwar.

The wide-legged, floor-length bottoms have a history in the traditional clothing worn at the royal courts of Awadh and the Mughal era. Paired with the embroidered kurta, they gave Kareena’s outfit a graceful, almost vintage feel without making it look dated.

She finished the look with a matching Bandhani dupatta, complete with embroidered borders and beaded tassels, draped casually over one shoulder.

And she didn’t go overboard with the accessories. A pair of kundan earrings and gold strappy heels were all she needed to complete the look.
