The upcoming epic ‘Ramayana‘ means much more than just a movie to Yash and Radhika Pandit‘s kids, Ayra and Yatharv. The epic has become a special part of their childhood as it marked their first experience of watching a film on the big screen. The children got to watch Namit Malhotra’s ambitious adaptation at an early premiere in Los Angeles. Interestingly, their first movie experience came through a story that has been part of Indian culture and storytelling for generations.
Ayra and Yatharv’s first movie experience with ‘Ramayana’
Seven-year-old Ayra and Yatharv, who turns seven on October 30, watched the film at its LA premiere. While details about their reaction to the movie have not been shared, the moment holds special meaning for the family. Yash plays Ravana in the film and is also associated with the project as a co-producer through his production company. The movie gains even more significance as Yash can show his children what being part of a big-screen experience means, something which is very significant in his own career. This is particularly true for Yash, since his kids are taking the first steps into cinema with his movie.
Yash and Radhika Pandit’s children Ayra and Yatharv’s names
Yash and Radhika Pandit have earlier shared the meanings behind their children’s names. Ayra’s name comes from Airavathi, another name associated with Goddess Lakshmi, while Yatharv means ‘complete’. They have also said that Yatharv’s name combines parts of Yash, Radhika and Ayra’s names. Watching ‘Ramayana’ for the first time has now added another special memory to their family. The film’s link with Indian mythology makes the occasion even more significant.
