A social media post claiming that actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint her as India’s next Education Minister has gone viral. The claim surfaced shortly after Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down from the post, but the widely circulated screenshot is not genuine. The post, designed to resemble Kangana Ranaut’s Instagram Stories, claimed that she had appealed to the Prime Minister for the Education Ministry.It read, “I request Narendra Modi ji to appoint me as the Education Minister of India. I understand the importance of education because I was the first person to show people the truth that India attained independence in 2014.”The fabricated post also included a satirical remark about the NEET examination, claiming students who watched Kangana’s films in theatres would receive bonus marks. It further joked that the move would end her “streak of flops.”

The claim is completely false

According to News18, despite appearing authentic, the screenshot is fake. Kangana Ranaut has not shared any such statement on her social media platforms. The viral image has been identified as AI-generated content created to mimic her online style. At the time of writing, the actor has neither responded to the fake post nor issued a statement addressing the misinformation.

On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’. She is now gearing up for the sequel to her hit franchise, ‘Queen 2’.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation

Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister following widespread criticism and public pressure over alleged examination irregularities, including concerns surrounding NEET-UG.In his resignation letter shared on X, he wrote, “My young friends, for more than four decades, I have remained dedicated to students, teachers, and education reforms. I have always believed that a strong, inclusive, and visionary education system is the foundation of a strong nation.”He further said, “I deeply respect the aspirations, emotions, and legitimate expectations of the youth of the country. Turning the dreams of India’s young generation into reality has been a moral commitment of all of us in political and social life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for giving me the opportunity to serve the nation under his visionary leadership.”Addressing the examination controversy, Pradhan added, “From the very first day, I took responsibility for the situation and never shied away from it. My resolve was that no deserving student should suffer because of examination mafias and no student should face injustice.”

Pralhad Joshi takes charge

Following Pradhan’s resignation, Pralhad Joshi assumed office as India’s new Union Education Minister on July 25, 2026. The transition marks a new chapter for the ministry as it faces calls for greater transparency and reforms in the country’s examination system.
