Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited ‘Ramayana‘ has begun its musical journey with the release of its first song, ‘Jai Jai Ram’. After the poster drop early Monday morning, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers released the first song, offering a new and closer look at Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Lord Rama and Sita.

While the song composed by AR Rahman and written by Dr Kumar Vishwas, with Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh lending their vocals has been winning praise, the discussion has spread beyond the music and lyrics. Following the release of the music video, fans have taken to social media to hail the noticeable improvement in the film’s visuals and VFX.

Fans notice visual upgrades in ‘Jai Jai Ram’

The music video features several new glimpses of Ranbir as Lord Rama and Sai as Sita, including unseen tender moments from their grand wedding and other moments from their journey together.Fans on social media have been quick to compare the new footage with visuals from the older teasers and trailers. Taking to their handles, many shared the ‘before and after’ images of similar scenes previously glimpsed in the trailer and the newer ones seen in the music video. Many viewers hailed the VFX, colour grading and noted that the team has worked hard to improve the visuals significantly.

Some fans even speculated that the makers have been refining the visuals in response to the criticism surrounding the earlier footage. In April, after the initial footage generated both praise and criticism online, producer Namit Malhotra said the team was paying close attention to audience reactions. “We’re listening closely, working diligently, and pouring every effort possible into honouring it with the reverence it holds,” he had said. He added that what audiences had seen at the time was “just the beginning”.

‘Ramayana’ release date

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ also stars Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana. The ambitious project is being mounted as a two-part epic, with the first instalment scheduled for release during Diwali 2026.
