Abhishek Pathak says ‘Drishyam 3’ marks the end

Despite the film’s strong overall box office performance, director Abhishek Pathak has ruled out the possibility of a fourth instalment. He believes ‘Drishyam 3: The Conclusion’ brings Vijay Salgaonkar’s story to a close. Audience interest in another sequel has not changed the filmmaker’s position on extending the franchise. In an interview with SCREEN, Abhishek Pathak expressed hope that October 2 would continue to be celebrated as Drishyam Day. He reiterated that the team considers the third film the final chapter of the series.

Why another Drishyam film is unlikely

Abhishek Pathak also explained that audience demand alone cannot determine whether a franchise should continue. A new instalment would need a convincing narrative that justifies revisiting the characters and their circumstances. For the director, the story must offer a meaningful reason to move forward rather than simply capitalising on the success of the previous films.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and the data in this article are compiled from public and industry sources.
