This can be the hardest sign to accept. You remember the trips, late-night conversations and moments when this person showed up for you. You do not regret the friendship, and you may still feel happy when something good happens to them.
But you no longer feel the need to recreate the closeness you once shared.
Outgrowing a friendship does not mean the person was bad for you or that the years you spent together were wasted. Some friendships remain close through every stage of life, while others change as the people in them do.
You do not have to turn every changing connection into a dramatic ending. Sometimes, it is enough to appreciate what the friendship meant, be honest about what it is today and allow it to find its own place in your life.
