He revealed that the original cast is reuniting for another run of the acclaimed series, which last aired in 2019. Kelley has finally given fans the update they have been waiting for.Kelley, 70, spoke to People at the New York City premiere of his new show, ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ on April 8, where he confirmed that plans are actively being made to bring the beloved series back for another run. “We’re getting the band back together, and it should be a good run again,” he said, adding that he is “not allowed” to reveal anything else.

‘Big Little Lies’ originally premiered in 2017 with a seven-episode run starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, and Zoë Kravitz. The wildly popular series returned in 2019 for a second season, which brought on Meryl Streep for another seven episodes.Kelley had previously hinted at a third season, telling People in June 2025 that while none of the main stars were under contract yet, “everyone is very committed to it.” Later that year, in September, it was announced per Deadline that screenwriter and producer Francesca Sloane had signed on to pen the season 3 premiere.

At the same premiere, Kelley also spoke about reuniting with Kidman, 58, on ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’, describing it as “a little bit of luck.”“There’s a lot of people dying to work with Nicole,” he said. “She’s obviously a gifted actress. The fact that we’ve worked together in the past gave us an inside track, I guess, on this project.” He added that her character in the new show is “a completely different role for her.”“When I told her what it was, I half expected her to laugh and say, ‘You’re kidding,’ but instead she jumped in and said, ‘Let’s go for it!’ And that’s a testament to her, her spirit and her creative ferocity,” Kelley said.‘Big Little Lies Season 3’ does not yet have a confirmed premiere date.
