Amid the concern over the AI-generated images and deepfakes, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has raised the issue after an AI-generated image of him circulated on social media. Taking to his social media handle, he tagged Tollywood star Jr NTR in his X post, asking him to take a note of the alleged misuse of the image by some of his fans in the Janhvi Kapoor deepfake case.

VC Sajjanar reshared a post from an X account that claimed an arrest had been made in the case involving an objectionably morphed video of Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor from the song ‘Chuttamalle’ in the film ‘Devara’. He clarified that the image accompanying the post was not genuine.“This is an AI-generated image, not a genuine photograph. Please do not fall for such deepfakes or share them without verifying their authenticity,” he wrote on October 8.

Commissioner asks Jr NTR to take note of some of his fans

The commissioner also warned people against believing everything they see on social media.“With AI-generated images becoming increasingly realistic, it is important to question what we see online. Just because a photograph looks convincing does not mean it is real. Misinformation spreads faster when people share content without checking the facts,” he wrote.He then directly addressed Jr NTR, saying, “I ask @tarak9999 garu take note of the misuse of my image by some of his fans.”The X account that shared the image later deleted the post and apologised to Sajjanar in the comments section. However, some Jr NTR fans defended themselves, claiming that those circulating the image were not genuine fans of the actor.Jr NTR is yet to respond to Sajjanar’s post.For the unversed, this comes after the circulation of an AI-morphed video featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR from ‘Devara’ song ‘Chuttamalle’.Janhvi Kapoor responded with a lengthy note about consent, personal boundaries and the misuse of women’s images. She said the issue was much bigger than the videos she had personally faced.

Jr NTR vows legal action

On the other hand, Jr NTR also vowed to take legal action against those responsible for creating and circulating the morphed video. He wrote, “ I will not spare any of you. I will take every possible legal action against those who created it and those who are spreading it. Please do not watch, share or engage with such content. Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter.”Meanwhile, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Vijay Deverakonda and several other celebrities also condemned the creation and circulation of the objectionable deepfake.
