The announcement included a striking new poster carrying the title “INDIAN 3” and the subtitle “WAR MODE”. The poster also features the tagline “THE RESURGENCE BEGINS” and shows three riders charging across a dusty landscape. Kamal Haasan appears in his two avatars, while Kajal Aggarwal is seen alongside them. The dramatic visual has added fresh interest to the next chapter of the franchise.
‘Indian 3’ could target summer 2027 release
With work now set to restart, ‘Indian 3’ could take some time to complete as the film involves large-scale sequences and extensive post-production. If the schedule moves as planned, the makers could look at locking a Summer 2027 release window. The timeline will depend on how quickly the pending portions are completed and how the team plans the remaining shooting and post-production work. The new announcement, however, makes it clear that the project is no longer being kept on hold.
Shankar to finish ‘Indian 3’ before ‘Velpari’
The decision to revive ‘Indian 3’ also comes as Shankar prepares to move towards ‘Velpari.’ Reports earlier suggested that the filmmaker wanted clarity on the unfinished film and had given the production team a limited window to resume work. Instead of leaving the project incomplete and moving directly to his next film, Shankar is now expected to finish ‘Indian 3.’‘Indian 3’ brings back Kamal Haasan as Senapathy, with Kajal Aggarwal also part of the cast.
