Nani gives major update on Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela film: 'We haven’t sat and had that discussion yet'

The much-awaited collaboration between Megastar Chiranjeevi and director Srikanth Odela continues to remain one of the most closely watched upcoming projects in Telugu cinema. The film created strong buzz when it was announced with Nani as its presenter-producer, especially because it promised to show Chiranjeevi in an intense and violent avatar. However, fans may have to wait longer for the project to move forward.

Nani says Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela film will take more time

Giving an update on the Chiranjeevi-Srikanth Odela film, Nani revealed that the project has not progressed as originally expected. In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor explained that the extended production schedule of his film ‘The Paradise’ affected the plans, while Chiranjeevi also moved ahead with other commitments. “That will take time because this film (‘The Paradise’) took time. Ideally, Chiranjeevi’s film should have almost been in the end by now. But, we took too long. Chiranjeevi sir completed a few more films. So, we don’t know. We haven’t sat and had that discussion yet,” Nani said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India.

‘The Paradise’ production changed the original timeline

According to Nani, the Chiranjeevi film was expected to have reached a much more advanced stage by this point. However, the making of The Paradise took longer than initially planned, which changed the timeline for the new project. At the same time, Chiranjeevi completed other films, making it difficult for the team to follow the original schedule. Nani also made it clear that there has not yet been a fresh discussion among the key members about when the project will take off. This leaves the next major update on the film dependent on the availability of the lead actor and director.

Chiranjeevi and Srikanth Odela’s violent film created huge buzz

The project was officially announced in December 2024 and marked a major collaboration between Chiranjeevi and Srikanth Odela. The director, who made his debut with Nani’s Dasara, is expected to bring a much darker and more intense style to the Megastar. Nani’s involvement as presenter-producer added another interesting layer to the project. The announcement poster showed a bloodied hand and hinted at a violent story, with the makers describing it as Chiranjeevi’s “most violent film.” While the wait may now be longer than expected, the combination of Chiranjeevi and Srikanth Odela continues to keep curiosity high.
