The final trailer for ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ has been released. The highly anticipated video game movie features Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, and the trailer shows his true potential and powers. The latest preview spotlights Karl Urban’s Johnny Cage, all the epic fights, and heavily features “Techno Syndrome,” the iconic theme music from the 1995 ‘Mortal Kombat’ movie that has become as linked to the franchise as John Williams’ Superman theme.Franchise creator Ed Boon teased that the film would have a tournament-like structure, featuring a variety of fights and locations.

The film is directed by Simon McQuid. Karl Urban joins the franchise as Johnny Cage, a washed-up martial arts star invited to compete in the Mortal Kombat tournament, which will decide the fate of the world. Returning cast members include Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Ludi Liu as Liu Kang, Mechad Brooks as Jax, Josh Lawson as Kano, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, and Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden. New cast members include Adeline Rudolph as Kitanna, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, and Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn. Hiroyuki Sanada reprises his role as Scorpion, facing off against the former Sub-Zero Bi-Han, now reborn as Noob Saibot, with Joe Taslim reprising his role.2021’s ‘Mortal Kombat’ became the most-watched new film on HBO that year. ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ is set to release on May 8.
