Cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma have largely kept their family life away from the spotlight since making London their primary base. Speaking to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, Dr Shriram Nene spoke about his admiration for Virat Kohli and recalled meeting the cricketer on several occasions.“I have a lot of respect (for him). We’ve met him multiple times; he’s just a decent human being,” Nene said.He then shared details of a conversation he had with Anushka while discussing the family’s plans to move to London. According to Nene, the couple felt they could not fully enjoy their success in India because of the intense public attention surrounding them.“We had a conversation with Anushka one day, and it was very interesting. They were thinking about moving to London because they can’t enjoy their success (here). And we appreciate what they go through, because anything they do attracts attention. We almost become isolated,” he said.Nene explained that constant recognition can make even routine activities challenging for celebrity families. He noted that while he personally remains comfortable interacting with people, repeated requests for selfies can become intrusive, particularly during private family moments.“I get along with everyone; I’m bindaas (carefree). But even then, it becomes challenging. There’s always a selfie moment. Not in a bad way, but there comes a time when it becomes intrusive, when you’re at dinner or lunch, and you have to be polite about it. For my wife, it becomes an issue. But (Anushka and Virat) are lovely people, and they just want to raise their kids normally,” Nene said.
