From books to conversations, give them what money can’t buy

Instead of always taking children to a store to buy another toy, give them an experience. Visit a zoo, explore a park, go on a nature walk, visit a museum, or take a family trip. You can also keep it simple by cooking together at home, gardening, making something with your hands, or having a family game night. Experiences give children something a toy often cannot, a memory connected to people they love. These activities also allow children to explore, ask questions, and discover things outside their usual routine. You do not need an expensive holiday to create meaningful memories. Sometimes, an evening spent watching the sunset together can stay with a child longer than a costly gift.
